Valid stored — cells with a finite value after recorded
processing, divided by all cells in the stored archive rectangle at
the stated grid spacing. Values may be measured, derived or interpolated.
Missing or invalid count metadata is shown as unknown.
Valid shown — its count and spacing follow the current
shown detail. In Smooth mode, it counts finite layer and terrain
samples. In Cells mode, it counts finite averaged blocks with a finite
terrain sample at the corresponding grid position. Both use all grid
positions as the denominator. Zero is valid, including a mask's zero state.
Cells averages valid exported values within each block at the selected
resolution. A partly missing block can still have an average, so its
validity may be higher than Smooth's sampled validity. Empty blocks stay
blank. Smooth changes detail by sampling; it does not average new blocks.
These counts are not visible screen pixels, viewport clipping or triangle
counts. Temporary comparisons have no stored archive dataset; their shown
count follows the selected result and colour mode.
Valid display in Details counts finite cells in the exported
display grid before terrain mapping or rendering detail. Export block
averaging can make this percentage higher than stored validity without
adding measurements; edge cropping and product-specific reductions can
also change it.
These counts describe data availability, not measurement
quality or the fraction passing a coherence cutoff.
